Gait Analysis at Pro Chiropractic
The TOG GaitScan analysis is a state-of-the-art diagnostic tool used to analyze the biomechanics of an individual’s gate, stance and posture. This comprehensive scan uses nearly 5000 sensors to analyze the patient in both dynamic and static positions. This information is then used to properly prescribe custom orthotic insoles to provide proper alignment of the 26 bones of the foot. The custom insole provides relief from common conditions including; plantar fasciitis (arch pain), tarsal tunnel syndrome, neuromas, heel spurs, bunions and even nagging knee, hip and low back pain that results from improper biomechanics.
Gait Analysis and Full Body Application
Over pronation also known as a “collapsed arch” in the sole of your foot is a common condition. This loss of structural integrity creates inward knee rotation along with hip drop leading to uneven hip pressure and misalignment of the spine. When applying Newton’s 3rd Law of Physics to human movement, we know walking applies force into the ground which in return exerts an equal an opposite force back to our bodies. This force starts in our feet and follows a kinetic chain to our ankles, knees, hips and low back. If forces are applied unevenly, our joints and tissues will suffer resulting in compensation and injury.
