medicine that receive such an invitation.

BOZEMAN, MONTANA, July 22, 2019, Amateur athletes from the United States and around the world recently gathered for the 2019 CSIT World Sports Games. This prestigious sports event was held July 2-7, 2019. This year there was a plethora of Official Championships that attracted the best in in several sports categories. Amateur champions from the following sports were competing for medals and titles: Athletics, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Mini-Football, Volleyball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Fistball, Handball, Dancing, Beach Tennis, Karate, Pétanque, Wrestling, Judo, and Swimming.

The International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) invited only 22 certified professional sports chiropractors from around the world, including Dr. Jonathan Wilhelm of Pro Chiropractic Bozeman to provide Chiropractic Sports Medicine services at this event. The rigors of these competitions require onsite chiropractic sports physicians on stand-by, ready to step in and prevent or manage sports injuries, and to provide performance therapy to athletes competing. Dr. Wilhelm spent many years acquiring advanced certifications in the field of Sports Chiropractic, including the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®) and International Certified Sports Chiropractor (ICSC) distinctions. These credentials and an impressive acumen of professional sports medicine work around the globe, including the Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018, Bobsled Skeleton World Championships, and Artistic Gymnastics World Championships is what separates him from other chiropractors leading to this appointment. Dr. Wilhelm is recognized for his sports medicine achievements, and the degree of care that he can provide to the competitors. He was recently awarded the prestigious honor of Sports Chiropractor of the Year by the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council.

His hard work and dedication to helping athletes achieve speak for themselves, and more impressive is the sense of thankfulness and pride he displays in being selected out of the amount of chiropractic physicians being considered. When recently interviewed about the appointment to the CSIT World Sport Games, Dr. Wilhelm replied, “It is an honor to represent FICS and the field of sports chiropractic at the WSG 2019! Helping athletes achieve is my life’s work and passion, and I am extremely grateful for the support of my family, staff and community to allow me to volunteer my time and travel to work this important event. I hope my work will represent them all well.”

Dr. Wilhelm’s upcoming sports medicine assignments include USA Track and Field National Championships July 2019, and USA Gymnastics National Championships August 2019.
